What Being Famous Does for the Ones Who Want it All

From expensive purses to luxurious trips celebrities seem to have it all. To someone who has nothing we can see where the life of a celebrity is envied. How about to the people who have never felt valued? This is an expansion of the blog from Tuesday.

Bond with the ladies again

When celebrity behavior becomes top news it becomes the most talked about event of the day. It seems as if we are attracted to looking at the lives of others who we deem have it “better” than we do. Though some would argue celebrities do not have many issues few seem to be unaware of their psychological well being behind the paparazzi photographs.

Celebrities wake up knowing they will be photographed, hounded for an autograph, and accused of participating in some scandal. These realizations more than likely do cause some anxiety. There is a constant need to seem “perfect”. A celebrity must dress in the latest trends, be the perfect size, say the right thing, and behave the perfect way out in public.

Many people say celebrities knew what their jobs entailed when they pursued them. What some do not understand is though one can expect an outcome they cannot anticipate the variables which are undetermined. Such variables include the gravity of being a celebrity.

With twitter we can work at getting 10 to 15 followers a week if we work at it. The accumulation of followers is steady and Megan Foxgives us time to adjust. Actors who become A-list over night do not share the same experience. They go from 5 or 10 followers to millions of followers in less than a day. The amount only grows from there leaving them no time to adjust.

After a brief look at what it is like to be a celebrity it is easier to see why people who feel they have nothing want to be a celebrity. They can go from making $25,000 – $40,000 a year to millions of dollars a year and receive attention from millions of people they do not know.

The attention in addition to the money is enough for people to aspire to become celebrities. For one to actually work for these things simply will not do. The idea of having to work does not satisfy the need for instant gratification.

Being a celebrity means instant fulfillment of wants. With such a fulfillment one must question what else can be done in life? If one only wishes to be fulfilled financially and garner unlimited attention there leaves no goals to achieve. As a result, the person is more than likely to lose all they aspired to have.

With the glossy depictions of fame and the benefits we must always ask, “Is this what I truly want?” A desire for fame can merely be a need to feel accepted. If you can achieve a need with the little means you are afforded then you are ahead of the curve.
